Thank you for taking the time to look at our website, we hope you find it helpful and useful. Please keep the website bookmarked, it deals with many of the questions that are commonly asked and should be a useful reference in the months to come.
Our School was built in 1870 by the Colman family in order to accommodate the educational needs of the workers’ children. Today, we are a small, friendly primary school for boys and girls aged between 4 and 11 years. Our ethos is one of a calm learning environment where children are challenged and supported to reach their full potential. We are welcoming, and show kindness and respect to all; everyone is valued as an individual. We believe in celebrating achievement and fostering in children an intrinsic motivation to learn about the world around them, equipping them to become responsible citizens in the world and life-long learners.
Although we are located less than a mile from the city of Norwich, we are part of a beautiful village community. The traditional Victorian buildings have been sensitively and imaginatively modernised, with an additional new building adding to the facilities of an expanding school. We look over the large village green and have plenty of countryside surrounding us.
In addition to its own hall and playgrounds, the school makes full use of our local community. We use the YMCA Sports Hall and all-weather sports ground in Trowse for PE lessons and we have our own dedicated playing field near the ski club on Whitlingham Lane close by.
Our highly-skilled, enthusiastic and committed staff work together as a team and are encouraged by a supportive and dedicated team of Governors. Parents play a significant part in School life and we have a ‘Friends of Trowse School’ group, who raise money for the benefit of the children.
We hope that you and your child enjoy your involvement with Trowse Primary School.
